Welcome to Cannock Chase Methodist Circuit. We are based in Staffordshire and encompass an area of outstanding natural beauty from which we derive our name. We are a family of twenty worshipping communities, separated into two clusters in the east and west of the Circuit, situated in town centres, small villages and rural hamlets. We are also part of the wider families of the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District and the Methodist Church of Great Britain.
With the first COVID-19 Lock-down from the 23rd March 2020, the Circuit Plan was necessarily suspended and remains so to date. The lifting of this Lock-down in May provided our Local Churches with an opportunity to assess risk and re-open for private prayer and worship. A number
of our Churches have done so, with the utmost attention to safety, but with varying degrees of gratification given the imposed constraints.
We thank churches for making some a difficult decisions as they try to balance the needs of those for whom attending church is their only contact with others with the need to protect the NHS – and all those who are vulnerable.
Presently – under Lock-down III Regulations applying from 6th January 2021 – all of our Local Churches are strongly advised not to open their buildings for worship, yet the Church is most definitely still active and alive: we continue to care for each other in our actions and prayers, whilst keeping ourselves and others safe. We're very grateful to our colleagues and lay workers for their ministry and mission in a testing time. Please do contact us if you need any support.
We have some worship services on Sunday broadcast using YouTube and Zoom. You can find more details on our services page
